Company Profile

Based on Kampala Road in Nairobi, the firm specializes in manufacturing domestic and institutional bedding products, using the "Posture Springing" method of construction under License from Slumberland PLC. in the United Kingdom. Slumberland products are widely recognized as the world leaders in design, comfort and durability.

From a humble beginning in 1987 when the company began supplying beds and mattresses to the local market, the company now exports its products to most hotels in the East African and COMESA region.

Slumberland Kenya Limited aims at providing sleep systems incorporating "Posture Springing” using the International Standards Organization (ISO 9000) series as the benchmark.

Slumberland Kenya Limited was for the 1st time certified for the highly coveted ISO 9002 on November 30, 2001 by Bureau Veritas Quality International (BVQI) after preparing for about one and half years and fulfilling the requirements of International Standards Organization, being the only Mattress manufacturing company in East Africa to achieve this standard. Further more Slumberland Kenya Limited is the only Mattress manufacturing company in Kenya to be awarded the "KBS Diamond Mark" of Quality.

Slumberland's Management, says the company is expanding its marketing activities to cover the entire Common Market of Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA) region.

To promote backward linkages, the firm sources most of the raw materials from the local market.

In the local market, Slumberland’s products are available in retail outlets of appointed supermarkets, dealers and hire purchase firms. The company also supplies bedding products directly to end users such as hostels, institutions and hotels. Slumberland supplies bedding products to three- star, four-star and five- star hotels.
